ECOTRAIL FLORENCE 2018 13 KM RULES

 

Art. 1 GENERAL INFORMATION

With the support of the Municipality of Florence, the Città Metropolitana and the Tuscan Regional Administration, Camelbag ssdrl is organizing the fifth edition of “Firenze Urban Trail”, a 13 km running race along Florence’s streets and paths with a 300-metre elevation change, beginning in Piazzale Michelangelo at 9 pm on Saturday 3rd March 2018. Art. 2 REGISTRATION

All adult athletes with a valid (on 3rd March 2018) medical certificate, as specified in Art. 4 of these Rules, can register to run in the Firenze Urban Trail 13 km by night race. There will also be non-competitive race on the same 13km route for which athletes must have the same medical certificate. Athletes that have been disqualified for using doping substances may not participate. Registration opens on 20th October 2017 and closes on 2nd March 2018 or when the maximum number of 1.000 runners has been reached.

 

Art. 3 REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee is as follows:

from 20/10 to 15/11 € 17,00
from 16/11 to 31/01 € 22,00
from 01/02 to 03/03 € 27,00


and includes:
- race bib number
- assistance along the route
- gadget
- final refreshment
In the event of non-participation, the fee cannot be reimbursed.
The following is not permitted:
- bib number exchange or use by anyone other than registered athlete - postponement of registration fee to the following year

 

Art. 4 MEDICAL CERTIFICATE

Non-Italian athletes must fill in the certificate that they can find at this link >>, have it signed and stamped by a doctor and upload on their personal runner space on the registration website by 24th February 2018. Failure to do by this date will lead to the annulment of registration without reimbursement.

 

Art. 5 COLLECTION OF BIB NUMBER AND RACE KIT

Bib numbers and race kits can be picked up at the Athlete Village in the Obihall (Via Fabrizio De André at corner with Lungarno Aldo Moro, Firenze) during the following times:
- Friday 2nd March from 12 noon to 6 pm
- Saturday 3rd March from 10 am to 7 pm.

ATTENTION: race bibs will be available for pick up only at the Athlete Village in the Obihall on Friday 2nd March and Saturday 3rd March.
Race bibs WILL NOT be available for pick up in Piazzale Michelangelo.

 

Art. 6 STARTING POINT

Runners must be in Piazzale Michelangelo before 8.45 pm on Saturday 3rd March. The race will start at 9 pm. Near the starting point there are changing rooms and cloakrooms available. Please do not leave valuables into your bag. The Organizers cannot be held responsible for any theft or loss or damage to the bags or their contents.

 

Art. 7 ROUTE

The route of the Firenze Urban Trail 13 km by night race will unwind along Piazzale Michelangelo and the historical city center. The route may be altered if some stretches of road are closed or for reasons of force majeure not dependent on the Organizers. Race kilometres are not marked. Runners must respect the rules of the road and the marked race route, they must avoid shortcuts and must not cut stretches of the route. Leaving the official route will lead to disqualification and is at the sole risk of athletes.

 

Art. 8 SAFETY

Organization staff and civil protection personnel in constant contact with the race HQ will be present along the route. Ambulances and medical and paramedical personnel will be present at the start and finish line, where an assistence radio spot will be on hand.

 

Art. 9 ENVIRONMENT

Participants must respect the environment and avoid abandoning rubbish. Anyone caught dropping rubbish along the route will be disqualified from the race. Firenze Urban Trail complies with the “I don’t drop my rubbish” campaign promoted by Spirito Trail.

 

Art. 10 WEATHER

In the case of adverse weather conditions (dense fog, severe thunder storms), the Organizers reserve the right to make last-minute changes to the route, even during the race, in order to eliminate potential hazards or adverse conditions. Race participants and staff shall be informed of any changes. The Organizers also reserve the right to suspend or cancel the race if weather conditions are such that they put participants, volunteers or medical teams at risk. If the race is interrupted or cancelled for adverse weather conditions, or for any other reason not dependent on the Organizers, no fee refund will be made.

 

Art. 11 OBLIGATORY EQUIPMENT

Athletes must run with a headlamp which must be switched on for the entire race on penalty of disqualification.

 

Art. 12 DISQUALIFICATION

The following infringements will lead to immediate disqualification with withdrawal of bib number: - taking shortcuts
- abandoning rubbish along the race route
- failing to aid a fellow participant in difficulty
- insulting or threatening the staff or volunteers
- failing to bring obligatory material

 

Art. 13 MAXIMUM TIME LIMITS, DROPPING OUT

The maximum time permitted to reach the finish line is 2 hours (before 11 pm on Saturday 3rd March). There is a time cut-off at 10.00 pm (1 hour into the race) at the 7th km. Athletes that pass this point after that time will be diverted to the finishing line and will be excluded from the final ranking. A “pick up” service will follow the last runner, in order to help athletes who withdraw and to be sure that anyone with injuries is assisted.

 

Art. 14 SELF-SUFFICIENCY

Athletes must be totally self-sufficient. There are no refreshment points on the route. Athletes are advised to bring half a litre of water with them.

 

Art. 15 PRIZES

There are no cash prizes. Non monetary prizes shall be awarded to the first 3 men and the first 3 women. There are no category prizes.

 

Art. 16 IMAGE USE RIGHTS

By registering, runners authorise the Organizers to freely use any still or moving images depicting athletes during their participation in Firenze Urban Trail, with no territorial or time limits.

 

Art. 17 WAIVER OF RESPONSIBILITY

Voluntary registration and participation in the race indicates full acceptance of these race rules and any changes made. By registering, participants exempt the Organizers from any liability, whether civil or criminal, for damage to persons and/or property caused by or to them.
